Water and dust ingress

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) publishes the Ingress Protections (IP) rating system. The numbers indicate the degree of protection. For example, IP67, the first number (6) indicates protection from dust. 7, indicates protection against the effects of immersion in water to a depth of 1 meter. Non-destructive test methods have been developed.
